Batting first, SL started well as Lahiru Thirimanne scored 90 and Tillakaratne Dilshan made 50 before a batting collapse that restricted the team's total to 256/9.
In reply, Pakistan chased down the target in just 40.5 overs with Ahmed Shehzad's brilliant 95(90) and Mohammad Hafeez's 70(88) score.
